چکیده

The “Danxia landform” is an erosional landform type originally defined in China. It is characterized by redcolored sandstones and steep cliffs, and developed via long-term erosion. Detailed quantitative geomorphometric studies of the characteristics of Danxia landforms in China have not yet been conducted. Using GIS, we conducted DEM-based geomorphometric analyses of 42 watersheds on Mt. Danxia, China. This area has many typical Danxia landforms. Analysis of stream networks indicates that fault systems are responsible for the NE-trending stream direction. Hypsometric curves and hypsometric integrals (HI) of the watersheds show that HI is significantly affected by lithology; the lithological difference between the eastern and western parts of the study area are reflected in the general form of watersheds. Longitudinal profiles of the watersheds were used to analyze the stream length gradient (SL) index and Hack profiles, which were also found to reflect lithology and fault control.

De Novo Transcriptome Assembly in Firmiana danxiaensis, a Tree Species Endemic to the Danxia Landform

Many Firmiana species are locally endemic, providing an interesting system for studying adaptation and speciation. Among these species, F. danxiaensis is a tree species endemic to Mount Danxia in Guangdong, China, which is an area known for presenting the Danxia landform. How F. danxiaensis could have adapted to the stressful environment of rocky cliffs covered with barren soils in the Danxia l...

HPV18 E7 induces the over-transcription of eIF4E gene in cervical cancer

Objective(s):Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E (eIF4E) is overexpressed in cervical cancer (CC). However, the molecular mechanisms are unclear. This study aimed to investigate the molecular mechanism of eIF4E gene overexpression in CC. Materials andMethods:The human papillomavirus (HPV) type 18 E7 and eIF4E mRNAs were measured following knock down or overexpression of E7 gene by RT-P...

Spatio-temporal patterns of crab fisheries in the main bays of Guangdong Province, China

Using a semi-balloon otter trawl, crab fisheries in the main bays of Guangdong Province, China, were carried out seasonally . A total of 70 species were found, all belonging to the South China Sea Faunal sub region in the tropical India-West-Pacific Faunal Region. The clustering and nMDS ordination analysis revealed the existence of three groups. Group 1 included Hailing Bay and four bays to ...

Emergence of Carbapenem-Resistant Serotype K1 Hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae Strains in China.

We report the emergence of five carbapenem-resistant K1 hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae (hvKP) strains which caused fatal infections in hospital patients in Zhejiang Province, China, upon entry through surgical wounds. Genotyping results revealed the existence of three genetically related strains which exhibited a new sequence type, ST1797, and revealed that all strains harbored the magA an...
